Offsite Care Offers ICU coverage via RP-7 Robots to Community and Rural Hospitals | |

Since May, Offsite Care (a physician practice) has extended their reach and offered ICU coverage via Remote Presence to three northern California hospitals: Healdsberg District Hospital in Healdsberg, CA; Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, CA; and Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits, CA. Healdsberg District Hospital: "Robotic telemedicine intensivist and sub specialist consultations empower the rural, small ICU to provide expanded and improved ICU care," said Dr. Jim Gude, the medical director of Healdsberg Hospital. "When needed, patients can be moved rapidly to tertiary or quarternary ICUs. Our robotics subspecialties for consultation include cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, nephrology, gastroenterology, and adult and pediatric intensive care." Palm Drive Hospital: Lori Austin, Director of Nursing, commented about the robot, “He's going to help local doctors keep their practices here and our nurses are looking forward to this new ICU experience." Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital: Trish Swangler, ICU Manager for Howard Memorial Hospital said about the RP-7 robot, "It's used for emergency needs and to augment patient care."
