A study published in the Journal of American College of Surgeons by Dr. Alex Gandsas of Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, found that additional rounds using the RP-7 robot reduced length of stay from 2.33 to 1.26 days for patients who underwent bariatric surgery. "The system allows you to be anywhere in the hospital from anywhere in the world," said Dr. Gandsas. When asked about how the patients react to the robot, Dr. Gandsas commented, "They love it. They'd rather see me through the robot." The nurses also reacted positively, stating that seeing the doctor gives them "confidence."
