INTOUCH HEALTH SECURES ADDITIONAL $1.0 MILLION INVESTMENT FROM BERINGEA, LLC

Santa Barbara, CA, July 9, 2003 - InTouch Health, Inc., the leader in remote presence technology for healthcare providers, today announced it has secured an additional $1.0 million investment from InvestCare Partners Limited Partnership ("InvestCare"), a healthcare private equity fund managed by Beringea, LLC. This investment will bring InTouch Health's total funding to more than $3.5 million. Jonathan M. Sackier, M.D., senior managing director for Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Beringea, will join InTouch Health's board of directors. Previous investors include Dr. Virgil Elings, founder and past chairman and president for Digital Instruments, Inc., and Twenty One East Victoria Investments, a Santa Barbara based venture investment entity established by Michael Towbes in 1999.

Dr. Sackier remarked, "We're very excited to be part of the InTouch Health team, and this initial $1 million investment is a reflection of our long-term commitment to contributing to this company's success. InTouch Health founder, Dr. Yulun Wang, is an accomplished entrepreneur and a world-renowned authority on robotics in healthcare. Dr. Wang essentially pioneered the surgical robotics industry which now spans more than 1000 major hospitals using robots in their daily operations. Currently, he is leading InTouch Health's efforts to develop robots to address the healthcare crisis of staff shortages, rising costs, and an ever-increasing demand for services by our aging population."

Yulun Wang, Ph.D., chairman and CEO for InTouch Health, added, "We couldn't be happier to have Beringea as part of our group, and Dr. Jonathan Sackier on our board of directors. We selected Beringea as a partner in this endeavor because of our shared vision and goals for InTouch Health, and because of the positive chemistry that immediately developed between the teams."

The Demographic Crisis in Healthcare
Over the next 10 years the number of elderly age 85 and over will grow 38%. The number of seniors requiring healthcare support will double. Already today there are over 400,000 unfilled nursing positions causing healthcare providers across the country to close wings or risk negative outcomes. Over the coming years, the declining ratio of working age adults to elderly will further exacerbate the shortage. In 1950 there were 8 adults available to support each elder 65+, today the ratio is 5:1 and by 2020 the ratio will drop to 3 working age adults per elder person.
