Santa Barbara, CA, December 12, 2002 - InTouch Health, Inc., the leader in remote presence technology for healthcare service providers, today announced that it has secured $1.5 million in equity financing. The round was led by Dr. Virgil Elings, founder and past president and chairman of the board for Digital Instruments, Inc. and his son, Jeff, who was a director of Digital Instruments. Terms of the financing deal were not disclosed. InTouch Health anticipates raising additional funds over the next several months prior to closing this round.

Virgil Elings, Ph.D., founded Digital Instruments, Inc. in 1987 (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Veeco Corporation [Nasdaq: VECO]) and served as the company's president and chairman of the board until his retirement in 1999.
