Software Engineer (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
Under the direction of Research and Development this position will work with a team of engineers in support of our software efforts for our robotics products.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for front-end user software, robot platform software and support/deployment software.
* Maintain existing code, port it to new platforms.
* Participate in design and development of new features, products and utilities.
* Responsible for requirements definition, design reviews, implementation, testing and initial documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
* Experience in either Linux or a version of UNIX desired.
* Experience in sockets (TCP/UDP), cross-platform development and remote development desired.
* Strong competency in C++, object-oriented design, Win32 API, MFC and threading required.
* Skills in embedded systems, Direct X, ASP, SML, SQL desired.
* Experience in real-world network issues such as firewalls, network security and VPNs desired.
* Must be flexible, have an aptitude for learning and be able to work both independently and with a team.
Qualifications:
* BA (or equivalent)
* Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Software Engineer
